Meet Rebecca Laoch, Project Planner
Where are you from and where do you live now?
I am from Florida, and currently live in Nashville, Tennessee.
What do you do at FLO?
I am a Project Manager and support our marketing efforts.
What’s rewarding about your job?
I love serving leaders at the local and state levels, figuring out how to best meet their needs, and then getting to see the direct impact of those efforts on increasing equitable access to educational opportunities for all students.
Why is what you do important?
Communities, local governments, school districts, and state agencies face challenging and complex problems that require both effective project management and stakeholder engagement. My role is to support these efforts, help make the process as smooth as possible, and ensure that the work is completed within budget, scope, and schedule.
What’s your favorite restaurant/place to go in your area?
I love hiking at Radnor Lake State Park and getting breakfast at Hearts in East Nashville.
What skills do you bring to your work?
I spent nearly a decade working in the education sector, first as a public middle school teacher and then in policy analysis, project management, and program leadership roles at the school district and state levels. I really enjoy engaging and collaborating with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
What do you like to do off the clock?
I love hiking, reading, having some fun banter with friends, and playing with my dog Samwise Gamgee.
What’s the best advice you’ve received from a work colleague?
“It’s all about relationships.”
If you were not a project planner, what would you be?
A writer.

Finish my EdD.
What was your favorite childhood movie/book?
My favorite book was The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.
