Enrollment Trend Analysis
Understanding enrollment trends over space and time can help districts with their long-term planning for facilities and programs. We evaluate historical grade-progression ratios (district-wide and by attendance area), the geographic distribution of student residences, and participation in special or nontraditional programs to help districts understand where students live and are residing. We also review student enrollment trends and student choice over time and how those choices impact school enrollment. The basis of this analysis consists of incorporating multiple years of Student Information System (SIS) data, applying spatial planning principles, and analyzing the data using GIS software and methods so that users can visualize patterns.
